tinned_tomatoes@feddit.ukto Android@lemdro.id•Google launches Extended Repair Program for Pixel 7a batteryEnglish1·18 days agoI’m on my third Pixel 7 from Google.
The other two both had severe screen separation occurring from the top-left of the display.
We never confirmed it was the battery swelling, but I can’t think of any other reason. I charge my Pixel 7 wirelessly every night.
Google replaced my phone for free both times (although I had to fight for it with multiple demanding emails).
Honestly feels like the Pixel brand is on the verge of a huge controversy if these “battery programmes” keep continuing. Let’s hope Google stopped using cheap battery suppliers these days.

It’s usually only people who check benchmark numbers or have an anti-Pixel bias that think Tensor is a bad CPU. The only issue I’ve really had with my 7’s CPU is thermals, which has improved with every generation (or so I’m led to believe). Even then, it’s just having a slightly warmer phone when recording videos and stuff. I’m sure it’s bad for the phone’s longevity but I’ve never noticed any throttling. I don’t play intensive games on my phone though because gaming on any phone is an awful experience.

Almost makes sense to skip the 10 series so Google can iron out their new Tensor design, but we’ll see soon enough how it performs.

But you sound like you should start wearing tinfoil around your brain to stop them from reading your thoughts - I mean, why wouldn’t they if they could, right?
Google isn’t sharing your fingerprint to the government, mate. Let’s be serious.
tinned_tomatoes@feddit.ukto Android@lemdro.id•Google Pixel 10 series to come with an upgraded ultrasonic fingerprint scannerEnglish26·2 months agoThis site is almost worse than Reddit sometimes with the hyperbole and the nutty takes. No, Google isn’t about to abuse its position, squander decades of goodwill and open itself up to regulatory hell to sell biometric data to some mythical boogie man.
tinned_tomatoes@feddit.ukto Android@lemdro.id•Google Pixel 10 series to come with an upgraded ultrasonic fingerprint scannerEnglish25·2 months agoI’m sorry, are you trying to suggest that Google is now going to store and track every Pixel user’s biometrics? Why would you think that? What’s changed now that suggests Google would even try that?

Apologies for the misunderstanding. It’s probably a niche use-case/workflow but I specifically meant sorting the subs/communities list by the amount of times I’ve visited them.
In Sync for Reddit, each sub visit is tracked and iterated and you can choose to sort your subs by most-visited. The result is a very quick way to navigate across your most-used subs. See below screenshot.
With Lemmy being a more fragmented social media site, i personally think this workflow would be even more useful here. But, I’m just one user ! I’ve no idea if other people used this feature of Sync or not.
Nice work. One thing I miss from Sync for Reddit is sorting communities/subs by number of times visited. Is that workable?
It’s better because you currently have no way to move a file from your normal space to your private space, and this change means you’ll be able to if you want/need to.
