I see folks crossposting but I don’t see how to do it in my lemmy interface (lemmy.world) - I can choose a single community to post to, not multiple. ANSWER FROM ELSEWHERE: In order to cross post, I need to first create the post in one community, then after I create the post, I can click the two nested squares icon under the title of the post (with the pop-up text “cross post”) that shows up on mouse-over.
Is there a way to not have to select “english” every time I post or comment? I thought my language selection at account creation would take care of it. EDIT: apparently the language I select at account creation is a global setting. Therefore, if I have set a language in my account settings, I can disregard the langauge selection option that is presented when I go to post or comment.
It would be great if the superfluous language selection option for posts/comments was rendered optional. I imagine that the number of folks posting in multiple languages is absolutely dwarfed by the number of folks posting in only their own language.
Doesn’t it? I’m not setting a specific language on this comment, but I expect it to get tagged as English because that’s set as the UI language in my settings.
It is indeed tagged as English. Thanks. I would love to be able to “turn off” the post/comment language selection drop down menu. A feature that (I expect) few people use should not be cluttering up the interface. It should be an option that can be activated or deactivated from settings.
