I’ve got to say that the file explorer tabs are a great addition/comeback, and a vastly improved experience over the 90s incarnation where drag and drop was often hamstrung by system responsiveness (and could you even drag and drop to inactive tabs to activate them and bring them to the front back then? Don’t recall.) Using them in KDE Plasma at home , when i got a new win11laptop for work I was thrilled with many of the interface improvements. The telemetry and “widgets” are trash, though, as are the permanent ads in the windows context menu.

I’m technically capable but all I know about is manually torrenting from public trackers without even using VPN because I got old and out of time and also like living dangerously and don’t mind getting occasionally smacked with bandwidth punishment for arrrrrrring. Usually I just use arrrr streaming. Is there a good guide to learn about the stuff you mentioned ?

Ah, pirate streaming, the only way to stream HD fan- AI upscaled Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. A project that a fan did because Paramount (Disney?) said that it wouldn’t be profitable to do, so they were going to let it languish in SD forever.

I’m on the fence about your comment. I agree that many of the 50 page inspiring monologues were hers. But I’m failing to see what makes her a terrible person. Hotheaded, poor impulse control, not a team player (wait am I talking about myself?), sure. Implausibly permitted to lead time and again in a way that makes it difficult to suspend disbelief, absolutely. But terrible? She’s not space Karen.

That would have required them to have a well-conceived plan before commencing the show. Instead, we got Klingons with craniodiaphyseal dysplasia (remember the movie “Mask” with Cher?), 10,000 inspirational speeches per episode, and life-or-death action moments that required everyone to stop everything to talk about their feelings while the ship falls apart around them.

Watching Star Trek Discovery was like reading Ayn Rand, except after hammering their point over and over, all the characters get 50 page recap monologues instead of just John Galt. EDIT: I loved that it was Fabulous, but the writing felt like it was written by cis het college freshmen allies. There are ways to be queer as fuck that don’t suck donkey ballz. There were SO MANY “and then everyone clapped” moments.

Plus there are entire keystone species of trees that blights drove to actual or morphological extinction. I don’t know about European species, but the mountains of appalachia used to be covered in massive American Chestnut trees that were so big around at the trunk they were on par with west coast species. After the blight, you can still find groves of chestnut trees, but its like they’re a different species - they live 7-9 years and die basically around the time they first mast. They never live long enough to really leave the sapling phase.

It is indeed tagged as English. Thanks. I would love to be able to “turn off” the post/comment language selection drop down menu. A feature that (I expect) few people use should not be cluttering up the interface. It should be an option that can be activated or deactivated from settings.
