I see wearing a mask in a similar light to washing my hands. It is possible to be a carrier of an infection without having any symptoms yourself, and it doesn’t hurt to wear a mask in certain spaces such as crowded streets, hospitals, shops, and public transportation where there are a lot of people. There could be people around me who are immunocompromised, and if wearing a mask will help prevent others from getting sick, that makes it all worthwhile! It’s a small thing that can go a long way!

I’m an artist, and I’ll gaze at seemingly trivial things like reflections of a cup on a semi glossy surface, and then do an analysis of it in my head along the lines of “hmm…the reflection is at maybe 30-40% opacity, and the reflection falls off at more of an oblique angle, falling off completely by the time the reflection gets to half the cup’s height…the glossier the surface the less falloff there is and the sharper the reflection is!”

Sorry if this is off-topic, but how is everyone else in this thread able to directly post images rather than just linking them? Whenever I click “upload image” there’s a rotating wheel for a few moments, as if the image is uploading then it just stops and there’s no image to be seen in my post. I don’t get an error message either, which makes things a bit more confusing. The image is below 100kb for those wondering! 😅

I just tried uploading an image post (rather than an image comment) and when I do that I get an “unexpected token” “json” error or an error about deadlines. I was able to upload image posts just fine before

There was a song that played on the radio a really long time ago, I remember that someone had requested it, and I remember how it sounded, but not any of the lyrics. It sounded really heavenly, a woman with a highish voice was singing, and the song sounded really old fashioned but also kind of new at the same time. It sounded like nothing that would’ve played on the station it was playing on, it was actually kinda jarring in the best way possible. I wish I could find it!

The best way I can describe it is that it had a really similar vibe to Les Fleur by Minnie Riperton, particularly the quieter parts. The singer would end their vocals in an “ahh” kind of sound.
