  • The injury was unrelated to the weights themselves. It was a lack of understanding of how to correctly do lunges. But I appreciate the advice.

Just in case someone else is in the same position. Do not think of it as pushing your knees to 90 degrees. Get in position, loosen your knees and focus on moving your hips down. It’s the same principles as squatting but in a different position

  • Extremely mixed. Last year my mental health was probably at its lowest after realising how bad my health was (weight and muscle atrophy from becoming a hermit in COVID times). I did a lot of work and I was finally able to go on walks daily without being exhausted and that felt really good. This in turn gave me more energy in the day and that also felt really good.

Also started doing weights. That didn’t feel as good. Making progress was nice but I was basically always in pain or aching, and when I wasn’t, it meant it was time to work out again. After exercising and the muscles were popped, it felt really good but that subsides. And seeing muscles like that start bringing out the body dysmorphia badly. It was the best Ive ever looked and it made me feel awful. Then I injured myself and it got it was even worse.

Tl:Dr light cardio yes, weightlifting not really

  • Appreciate the work. There’s a desire to spread awareness but there is a place. There is a demand for trigger warnings in today’s society and that stems from a desire to avoid topics. Dead bodies in particular shouldn’t need a trigger warnings because it’s clearly a trigger. That is the goal of posting it. Just because you think the message is important doesn’t give you any further rights.

  • There’s a sidequest in Like A Dragon Gaiden that literally mocks the danger of using AI to do this. I don’t know your position but I’m sure your friends aren’t gonna mind if you just send them a sentence response.

I’ve found in my life the more I think about how I should reply the more likely I am to say something they dislike, I’ll overthink and add something that infers I’m not talking about X. And the reply will come back “If you aren’t talking about X, why did you bring it up?”

  • The idea behind using a credit card is to earn credit for when you actually need to borrow money. You should be using credit cards as proof you can pay back what you spend so you should have that money. An ideal use case is having the money on a debit card, opting to use a credit card and paying it off before it incurs a cost. Doing this would be free for you but could help greatly in the long term when you borrow for something like a mortgage.

But you shouldn’t do this if you are already bad with money. I just use mine to pay for online subscriptions and have them automatically paid off because I know I can’t be trusted to remember to pay them off
