Accepting this is what my species is like and that this is the world we’ve made for ourselves, is the hard bit.
The good bit is that it will be over soon.
The rest is depression.

Cool photo, congrats!
I find grapes far too sweet these days. I tried variety box of them a few months back and none tasted fresh and tart how I remembered them from childhood.
Than good mango, not many.
Perfectly ripe and jammy persimmons are up there though.
Super ripe and juicy yellow melon is an experience too. Especially when eaten straight out of the fridge on a hot summers day.
Pretty picture @Stamets, congrats!
I slept through most of it. What I was awake for was expensive and uninspiring.
I like the long dark, it’s like 13 hours of that 3am feeling of being the only person awake, so I’m free to exist unbothered by the rest of the world. I end up far more productive and content at this time of year too, and mostly nocturnal. Living by lamp light is far too nice.

Back when I had a loud phone, my text message alert was the Icarus 1 Distress Beacon from the film Sunshine.
Gucci. It got bought out by PPR in the 90’s, they replaced everything but the name pretty much. Tom Ford’s work as the new head designer turned Gucci into the iconic modern luxury brand it is today.
(I only really know this as I was slightly obsessed with that House Of Gucci show with Lady Gaga in it. She’s a fantastic actress.)
Stovetop kettles are the og and existed for centuries before electric kettles. They’re all just called kettles though and the heat source modifer is rarely mentioned.
Anyone who defends conservative politics is scum.

So in cafes and restaurants you get kettles at your table to heat water for tea, and at home you put teapots on the stove to cook tea?
Or were the people I was replying to getting the two confused?
More content like the Chinese Cooking Demystified channel, and the Food 52 stuff with chef Lucas Sin.
I like to watch stuff where I’m getting some of the history and geography of the techniques, ingredients and dishes being presented; while also being talked through the various chemical reactions going on at every stage and why they’re important to the desired outcome of the dish.
Plant based content would very much be appreciated too.
Are kettle and teapot switched around in US English or something?
Use the tooth brush and running water to brush your tongue clean, and spit a few times. That way you get a clean tasting/feeling mouth while not rinsing the suds from your teeth.
