I’m with you on the shower heads. I rip out the flow restrictors before I even install one.

lol, leaving it just for this.
Great skill! My wife has been cooking her entire life and now she cans all of our vegetables but has expanded into fruit drink mixes, pig fat, stocks, etc. the benefit is that what she cooks now is better than most restaurants. She has the gift of just knowing what should go together so she can whip anything together. She enjoys it which makes it so much better. Nothing like TLC in foot prep to make things taste even better. I can’t even put together how much we’ve saved by not eating out. Although, we do like to break down whatever we’re having cost wise vs how much it would’ve cost at a nice restaurant. Anyway, all that to say, you made a wise choice and I’m sure it’s already paid off.
JSAUX makes a great 240W cable that’s fairly priced and has 240W printed on the ends. It’s stiff but that’s because it’s actually gauged for 240W. I just decided to buy those in blue for anything that required more watts than mobile devices. Then I get at least 30W rated cables in red for all the mobile stuff. Super easy to know which is which at a glance.
The failure of pc manufacturers to move to C quickly is sad. Apple has moved over quicker. That says a lot.
Lighting’s port is fantastic for its positive fit and finish but USB-C is pretty close as long you don’t get super cheap cables and gear, then they just break after a bit. You get what you pay for.
They did make USB-A cables that had a universal (up and down) connector near the end. Got one with my JBL Flip. There is a middle piece that moves to one side or the other depending on how you plug it in.
I have that GaN brick it’s fantastic and makes the original Thinkpad one look huge.
LoZ: LTTP Fairy Fountain Theme. So sublime.
Also, underrated is Skyward Sword’s Great Fairy Fountain. This one is heavenly.
Same. I think it was popular back then to steam them 🤮 but now it’s a lot more popular, thankfully, that they’re roasted in olive oil with some light seasonings. My wife makes them just so they start to crisp up and they’re incredible. Kids love them.
Term limits for SCOTUS and Congress!
Ranked Choice Voting would help balance the parties out.
Tax the super rich. They’ve told us to do so, so why aren’t we just doing it?
I like you. @antlion@lemmy.dbzer0.com for President!
OEM or NAPA. They’re the only ones that source OEM quality. Everyone else has lesser grades. Even RockAuto (who is amazing for getting part numbers) has issues with quality from time to time.
Mastodon. Easily better than Twitter in every way, even when it wasn’t full of garbage. Can’t say the same for Lemmy, it’s not bad, and in some ways better but in some ways worse.
Sand dunes and beaches of the outer banks in NC/SC US. The sights, sounds, and smells are amazing.
Sugar just doesn’t do it for me anymore. I’d much rather have a bag of chips or a salt lick than ice cream.
⚠️ More information than you require: I grew up on diabetes tea and pretty much cut out all sugar (stopped drinking soda) years ago. I felt 100x better after a few weeks and realized how much sugar I was actually drinking. The adult limit for sugar without trashing your blood sugar is about 28g/12oz. Most soda is in the 38-45g range. Way too much and makes you feel like shit, you just don’t realize it because you’re used to it. After not drinking super sugared drinks for a month you become re-sensitized to sugar and absolutely can’t drink it again. Coke, etc tastes absolutely awful to me now. If I have sweet tea I basically do a 1:4 sweet tea to unsweetened tea ratio.
Early Grey man myself but there is a Hawaiian Cocktail tea that has dried pineapple and other tropical fruits that is absolutely exquisite. I’m not usually a fruit tea person as I love bitters. Wish I knew who made it but we’ve had it for quite some time and I don’t.
That’s by smell. They all smell fantastic in part because they don’t produce much sweat.
We usually do:
something to wear
something they need
something to read
something they want
something to eat
That said, we also try to make note of what someone wants when they mention it.
My mom is fairly simple, she either wants time with the family and grandkids or pictures. We usually do a yearly photo album or calendar, she loves those.
That’s why they’re so pervasive, they work on the majority of people (that’s not us).
