I’m rude to debt collectors who call me trying to collect debts from people who happen to once have had the same phone number as I once did. Like, I’m not who you’re trying to collect from, fuck off.

I’m also rude to generally any scam caller, they’re some of the few people I take great pleasure in telling off because I can get away with it. They’re scammy assholes, what’re they gonna do? Cry to the authorities? Knowing that they’re pieces of shit who scam people out of money? Good fucking luck.

The audacity of thinking you have such an important view on life that random people need to hear it. They also need to come to your clubhouse reguarly and give you money.

Devils advocate (tee hee), if you believe that you have the answer to all sadness, are you an asshole if you are not sharing it (especially if sharing is low cost)?

On one hand yeah they’re stupid annoying

On the other hand, I’m pretty sure for like Mormons and JWs where they’re sending over like kids barely out of highschool for missionary work in another country that’s the entire point. They’re not there to convert anyone, they’re there to instil a sense of fear into these kids by showing them that everyone who isn’t apart of their church hates them even though they’re only trying to ‘help’. Being rude to them just proves their church’s point.

Or: actually the fastest way to get put on their blacklist is to be really genuinely nice (but still firm) to the missionaries because you’re proving them wrong about how mean and horrible the outside world is

I’ve heard that before but really wonder if it’s true. My last encounter with (I believe Mormons though it’s been a LOT of years ago) was while we were eating dinner. The front door was open with the glass storm door closed. They came to the door, knocked, then stared at us while we were eating dinner as a family. We stared back and they proceeded to knock another 3 times before leaving. I mean, regardless of what you are at the door for that’s just rude as fuck so how would they expect a nice response?!

          knock 3 times

oh boy, the knock 3 times rule, that brings back some memories. I spent a miserable 6 months as a Mormon missionary and my first companion would always knock 3 times. I always felt it was rude, especially when he would do it at a house where we knew someone was home and just not answering the door.

For me it’s anyone that comes to my doorstep trying to sell something (including religion). To get to that point you have to walk past TWO “no soliciting” signs. That makes the person blind, incompetent, or both.

I’m not rude to these guys. They believe in fairytales but I’m polite. I just tell them I’m a firm atheist and there’s nothing they can say to sway me. They usually thank me and leave.

I like to show them that atheists are good people instead of devil-possessed or whatever they think we are.
